A classic houseplant, the Aphelandra squarrosa (aka zebra plant or saffron spike) is native to Brazil. It has sensational dark green glossy leaves with white veins and pretty golden yellow flowers. Place in a position with indirect light, indoors or on a shaded porch, not in full sun or the leaves will burn.
