| Description | Escallonia Iveyi
Escallonia Iveyi is a quick growing, evergreen plant with fragrant white flowers in summer. Ideal for hedges, borders or screening.
It is particulary hardy and will cope with coastal conditions as well as a hot, dry location, but does not cope with humidity. Frost hardy and drought tolerant once established. Plant 70cm apart for hedges and borders.
6" pot size, approximately 15-25cm in height. | Buxus microphylla japonica
Japanese Box is a hardy evergreen compact shrub with dark green oval foliage when mature, its new growth being a light green colour. Japanese Box is the best box hedge for warmer regions as it tolerates heat better than other Buxus plants. It is suitable for a full sun to part shade position and requires little water once established.
Japanese Box are a traditional favourite, as they are perfect for formal evergreen hedges. Small glossy green foliage on a compact dense shrub, make them perfect for clipping or topiary. Buxus japonica can grow in full shade but will take much longer to establish. This plant has a moderate growth rate growing to approximately 1m in height. Plant 25cm apart - 4 per meter for an optimum hedge. | Malus purpurea
The Purple Crab Apple makes a handsome small tree, quite round topped in maturity. With beautiful flowers which are a deep, red-purple colour creating an effect that looks almost unbelievably rich.
A great specimen tree, in Autumn the Purple Crab Apple has dark purple fruit and leaves which turn shades of yellow and red.
