Ficus microcarpa hillii

Ficus hillii or 'Hill's Weeping Fig' are the hardiest of the evergreen ficus plants and are the number one choice for standardizing. The soft, white bark contrasts beautifully against the exuberant, glossy green foliage, making a feature out of your pleached hedge or standard topiary. Unlike other ficus, the foliage of the Hill's Weeping Ficus can be hit by a hard frost without recoiling and turning black. Ficus hillii can tolerate a wide range of soils from clay to sandy, preferring a rich, moist loam in which it would thrive. They grow best in full sun to part shade and produce no flowers, making it a no mess hedging option! Ficus roots are known to be quite vigorous, but can be controlled by keeping the foliage and head of the plant trimmed, roughly 2-4 times a year. They are best planted away from water pipes, easements and pools to avoid any root issues. For more information on Ficus see our Ficus Factsheet 12"/30cm pot 1.5m tall

Brachychiton acerifolius

The Illawarra Flame Tree is known for its stunning display of bright red flowers that cover the whole bare tree in late Spring. While it's an Aussie native, it is now grown all over the world for its beauty.

The Illawarra Flame Tree is only fully deciduous in the northern parts of Australia, where it drops its leaves in the dry season. Plant Flame Trees with Jacarandas for a colour explosion.

Grevillea hybrid

Grevillea Firecracker displays a spectacular explosion of red and orange flowers, which are highlighted against soft to touch small evergreen foliage. One of the great benefits of this plant is that it flowers heaviest throughout the colder months of Autumn and Winter. Firecracker is bound to brighten up any garden in Winter. Fire Cracker is an extremely tough plant, growing in areas which receive Winter frosts right through to hot Summers. The versatility of this plant makes it very appealing for beginner gardeners and professionals alike. Grows approximately H:40 cm W:80 cm
