Description

Cotinus Coggygria, Smoketree

Purple Smoke Bush is a gem in the garden thanks to it's unique blend of colours that change throughout the seasons. A large deciduous shrub or small tree, its beautiful eye-catching Spring foliage is green overlaid with purple. Summer brings deep purple foliage that then turns deep orange and bronze in a burst of glory for an Autumn show. Purple Smokebush gets its name from the clouds of smoke-like purple and pink "flowers" it produces in early Summer. These are very beautiful themselves, and are prized along with the foliage by florists. Grows best in full sun to partial shade and it is tolerant of drought and most soils, making it a great addition to many gardens. 10" pot size.

Michelia figo

This magnolia features small shiny deep-green leaves, with heavily scented purple and cream magnolia-style flowers in spring. It is sometimes called the Banana Shrub as the flowers have a banana-like fragrance. The Port Wine Magnolia is known for its highly fragrant perfume when in flower, particularly at night. Usually evergreen, but can be slightly deciduous in very cold areas and is usually frost tolerant.

Viola odorata ‘Pink’

Viola odorata ‘Pink’ is a charming, fragrant groundcover that produces delicate blush to soft pink blooms in late winter and early spring. Its heart-shaped foliage forms a neat clump, making it ideal for shady garden beds, borders, or woodland-style plantings.

  • Soft pink, sweetly scented flowers
  • Compact, spreading habit with heart-shaped leaves
  • Blooms in late winter to early spring

6"/ 14 cm pot

Ulmus parvifolia

The bark of the Chinese Elm is a real stand out feature, as the tree sheds it in patches, creating the effect of a tapestry of varying browns and greys. Foliage is lush, shiny and green, and the tree is semi deciduous, turning golden in autumn, and keeping its leaves in warmer areas. It has also been noted by many Aussie gardeners in recent years that native birds enjoy the fruit of the Chinese Elm.
