| Description | Pinus thunbergii 'Kotobuki'A narrow form of the Japanese Black Pine. The short needles are a very dark green colour. Interesting white buds are formed in winter, making a stunning contrast to the dark green foliage. The bark becomes cork textured as the plant matures. It is a favoutite with the bonsai enthusiasts. Arakawa produces rough bark which shows up after several years of growth and becomes quite prominent as the maple ages. This variety is a vigorous grower that is also hardy. It produces a fantastic Autumn colour with foliage turning bright orange and red. Loves a position of full sun or part shade. Can tolerate cold temperates.
