Large, dense hedging plant for medium to large properties
- Very hardy once established
- Easy to maintain & shape
- Brilliant gold colour
| Cornus kousa var Chinensis, Kousa Dogwood, Chinese Dogwood
This is arguably the world's most beautiful dogwood, with a fabulous show of white flowers in spring, and magnificent autumn colour. A beautiful small (up to 4m) deciduous feature tree and is extremely beautiful when in bloom. Flowering season is late spring, weeks after the tree puts on foliage again.
8" pot size | Luma apiculata
Myrtus Luma is the medium to tall hedge with real traditional style. A lot of people believe the only fast growing larger hedge with fine foliage is the Pittosporum. It is an extraordinarily versatile plant suitable for hedging, screening, topiary, or as a specimen tree, but its small, aromatic leaves respond so well to pruning that it is commonly used as a hedge.
Myrtus luma also makes a wonderful specimen tree if left unpruned. With age it forms an outstanding trunk with cinnamon brown branches. Its bark peels to reveal streaks of pink and beige. What a plant! It really should be seen more in Australian gardens.
| Archontophoenix cunninghamiana
Bangalow Palms are native to Australia and are often used as indoor plants here down South. To grow into a very large tree they would probably require warmer climates than Melbourne, but as a small or medium size tree they look lovely anyway.
Use Bangalow Palms as a clumped indoor plant or in a sheltered spot outdoors to add a tropical feel to the garden. | Pyrus calleryana
A narrow, upright form and an excellent choice for space-restricted or compact areas. Glossy green leaves in Summer, Plentiful white flowers pop up in spring and autumn colour of Reds, Oranges and Purples.
Great for fence lines, tree lined driveway, street planting or parks.
Grows in a column shape.
Can average 8-10m tall. Can be trimmed to keep at 6m if required.
16''/40cm pot |
| Content | Need a plant perfect for hedging? Castlewellan Gold Conifer is an evergreen conifer plant that produces stunning golden-yellow foliage. Ideal for improving privacy, it thrives well in almost every condition including wind and dry spells.
The Conifer Castlewellan Gold is a highly popular, fast-growing hedging plant that gets its name from its golden foliage, achieved by planting in full sun. It can grow up to 10 meters tall in 5 years on a rural property. However for the urban block they are easily maintained at a height of 3m, perfect for hedging, avenues, and windbreaks. Recommended planting is 1.5m apart for dense hedging. It is very tough and hardy and will cope with extended dry periods and extreme cold once established.
The Castlewellan Gold Conifer plant requires continuous care as it tends to grow very quickly. However, its growth can be easily regulated with regular trimming plus, along with Leighton Green conifers they are one of the most neat and dense hedges around. | | | | Ornamental pear trees are fast growing, tolerant of most soil types, including heavy and poor soils, and best of all they come in a range of shapes and sizes to suit your landscaping requirements.
