Description

Phoenix canariensis

The Canary Island Date Palm is a tropical style palm with huge feather leaves that waft airily in the wind and give a sense of paradise wherever they are seen. They are perfect for cooler climates and very popular in Melbourne. See more info in our factsheet here.

Canary Island Date Palm is tolerant of huge neglect if placed in a position of full sun. This palm will grow vigorously and demand space with a spread developing in a few years. Prefers well drained soil. It is easy to grow.

Triadica sebifera (Sapium sebiferum)

Chinese Tallow Tree has rapid growth, precocious and prolific seeding, adaptability to a wide variety of soil conditions, tolerance of both drought. This deciduous tree has an upright habit and is long-lived. Slender flowers are displayed in Spring. This attractive small tree displays round or oval sharply pointed foliage; that turn red in Autumn. 8"/20cm pot size.

Quercus robur 

English Oaks are famous for being solid and strong. The trunk and secondary branches are very solid and are covered in thick blackish-grey bark which makes it quite a sight. The autumn foliage is a rich, dark brown. As the foliage is smaller than other deciduous trees, fallen leaves are not particularly difficult to eliminate and will not clog drains. 10"/25cm pot

Agapanthus praecox minimus

Dwarf Agapanthus are smaller and more compact, great for narrow borders and gardens with less space. • Fine, strap-like lime green foliage • White umbel flowers appear on tall stems above the foliage Extremely hardy, tolerating poor soils and drought 6"/14cm pot size.
