Description

Acer palmatum, Sango-kaku, Coral Bark Maple

You simply can’t miss the Senkaki Maple with it’s distinctive coral-red bark, which contrasts with its bright green leaves in Spring and Summer. Autumn sees the foliage turn gold and eventually Winter leaves you with a beautiful bare sculpture of a tree with striking red bark. One of the beauty queens of all deciduous trees.

Forms a beautiful vase shaped tree. Grows Approximately H: 5 Meters W: 4 Meters

Magnolia grandifora Magnolia 'Big Gem™️' is a lusciously large evergreen Magnolia. The leaves are large and pointed with less gloss than other Magnolias. Along with the large leaves are gorgeously bright, white and heavily fragrant big flowers in the warmer months. They are quite hardy trees, tolerating most soil and weather conditions and make wonderful feature hedges, large shade trees or specimen plants. Trademark applied for by Lucas finance. See our Magnolia & Michelia - Evergreen Factsheet here for more about the different Magnolia Michelia varieties!

24"/60cm pot - Approx 2.2-2.5m, very bushy!

Rubus x idaeus

Nootka Raspberries produce a full and heavy crop mid Summer and again in Autumn which allows you access to fresh, delicious raspberries more often!  Growing to approx. 1.2m tall x .5 wide, they prefer a sunny position, with a rich, well drained soil and good Summer watering, and also grow well in pots or tubs.  Get the kids to help gather the fruit and they will not be able to resist sneaking a few into their mouths for a boost of Vitamin C!

Ficus microcarpa hillii 'Flash'

One of the fastest no mess hedges, Ficus 'Flash' are chosen for their rapid growth, lavish green foliage and high tolerance of poor conditions. These gorgeous Australian natives produce no flowers and seeds therefore no mess! And their upright, dense habit lends them to being used as not just solid hedging but as topiary, standards and pleached hedging. 13''/33cm pot - 6ft tall!!!

Lamium maculatum Sensation is a hardy-spreading, evergreen groundcover that has small heart-shaped green leaves with a narrow green margin, and a silver streak through the centres. Clusters of small purple flowers in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Ideal for part sun and full shade as a groundcover in garden beds, rock gardens, borders, mass plantings, hanging baskets and pots. 6"/14cm pot

Ficus microcarpa hillii

Ficus hillii or 'Hill's Weeping Fig' are the hardiest of the evergreen ficus plants and are the number one choice for standardizing. The soft, white bark contrasts beautifully against the exuberant, glossy green foliage, making a feature out of your pleached hedge or standard topiary. Unlike other ficus, the foliage of the Hill's Weeping Ficus can be hit by a hard frost without recoiling and turning black. Ficus hillii can tolerate a wide range of soils from clay to sandy, preferring a rich, moist loam in which it would thrive. They grow best in full sun to part shade and produce no flowers, making it a no mess hedging option! Ficus roots are known to be quite vigorous, but can be controlled by keeping the foliage and head of the plant trimmed, roughly 2-4 times a year. They are best planted away from water pipes, easements and pools to avoid any root issues. For more information on Ficus see our Ficus Factsheet   230 Litre Pot
ContentThe Japanese Senkaki Maple is the only maple tree which provides beautiful vibrant colour all year round, with it’s bright coloured bark that really stands out in winter. This is why it is commonly known as Coral Bark Maple. The Senkaki Maple is a beautiful small tree and is one of the best examples of a Japanese maple, providing your garden with a lovely small feature tree as a centre piece. It grows approximately 4-5m wide and high. Light green foliage appears in spring then turns to classic autumn tones. As the leaves start to fall the stems of the trees turn to a “fire engine red” colour for winter. This superb tree makes a wonderful feature in any sheltered spot in the garden.
