The bark is grey, thin and smooth. The foliage will turn fantastic to shades of scarlet and gold in autumn before shedding its leaves for winter. Prefers deep, organic materials-rich soil though will grow in most soil conditions. | Hardenbergia violaceaFree & Easy is a popular native climber. With its vigorous climbing habit it is a useful plant for covering pergolas trellises and fences or simply allow it to spread into a creeping ground cover. Callistemon pallidus or the Lemon Bottlebrush is a popular native shrub and is useful as a featured specimen or as a screen. It is upright in form, with spreading branches that are quite slender and mid-green tapered leaves that are hairy when young. The flowers are profuse, cylindrical shaped and a vibrant lemon yellow colour, often covering the entire shrub with colour from spring through to summer. Prefers well drained, moist soils and a good layer of mulch also helps maintain moisture access. Pruning will help keep it tight and neat, especially after flowering is over.
