| Description | Acer rubrum Scanlon Maple is a fantastic columnar form of the Canadian Red Maple. It is a tall straight trunked tree with beautiful lobed and veined green leaves. The bark is grey, thin and smooth. The foliage will turn fantastic to shades of scarlet and gold in autumn before shedding its leaves for winter. Prefers deep, organic materials-rich soil though will grow in most soil conditions. 20"/50cm pot | Acmena smithiiForest Flame is a very compact form of Acmena smithii that can easily be kept pruned under 1m. It produces glossy fine green leaves with attractive bright red new growth. If you keep it regularly trimmed will not produce berries. This variety prefers a full sun or part shade position for best results and becomes extremely frost hardy once established. Will tolerate dry conditions once established and is reasonably frost tolerant. 6"/14cm pot size. | |||
