Hardenbergia Free n Easy has glossy green leaves and the flowers are a delicate pale lavender to white colour. They are borne profusely from Winter to early Spring. Callistemon pallidus or the Lemon Bottlebrush is a popular native shrub and is useful as a featured specimen or as a screen. It is upright in form, with spreading branches that are quite slender and mid-green tapered leaves that are hairy when young. The flowers are profuse, cylindrical shaped and a vibrant lemon yellow colour, often covering the entire shrub with colour from spring through to summer. Prefers well drained, moist soils and a good layer of mulch also helps maintain moisture access. Pruning will help keep it tight and neat, especially after flowering is over.
