With a medium rate of growth, this tree will grow to 8m, is not too particular about the soil quality, is mildly drought tolerant and tolerates frost. Small leaves, up to 5cm long, emerge a brilliant pinky-red in Spring, becoming green in Summer before turning orange-red in Autumn. Young stems have red bark and small, reddish flowers are borne in clusters during Spring. Chichi Improved grows to approximately 2.5-4m in height and a similar width.Thrives in moist but well draining soil and a full sun to part shade position.
