It is slender and graceful enough to be a part of a small garden without appearing too dominant, and is also effective in larger areas planted alone or in groups. A moderate growing and medium sized tree, ideal for either a small garden setup or even a larger forest-like vista, this tree will grow well in most soils in a sunny to part shade position. Why buy English Box?

English Box plants are the classic all rounder for creating wonderful enclosed landscapes and gardens. Whether you’re creating a border or a hedge, English Box will deliver every time with spectacular results.

A hardy contender to any garden and will tolerate most conditions, English Box is also a wonderful selection for the beginning garden enthusiast.

The advantages of English Box hedge and border is that it only requires one or two trimmings per year. It needs very little water and it grows in almost any soil, except for a very heavy or poorly drained soil. English Box grows in full sun through to the very deepest shade. In fact English Box will grow with no direct sunlight. English Box is the best of the low borders when you have a border that is partly in full sun and partly in deep shade. Click here to view our English Box Factsheet for more information. What you need to know when you buy English Box:

Firstly, English Box is low maintenance, meaning it only needs a trim 1-2 times per year to keep its shape as a very neat hedge or border. This means that English Box plants are slow growing, so if you want to get a perfect low box hedge or border in a hurry, you might want to invest in larger English Box plants. You need to buy at least 5 English Box plants per metre of border or hedge you want to create. Some traditional gardening books recommend planting even more! So it pays to take advantage of one of our bulk discounts on English Box.
