The Atlas cedar is an evergreen tree reaching a height of 25m tall and 10m wide at a medium pace. It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers dry or moist soil and can tolerate drought. The plant can tolerates strong winds but not maritime exposure.

The Black Boy rose has large flowers that bloom dark red with a purple tint. The flowers are abundantly produced and are sweetly fragrant. They are of moderate fragrance and are very large and produced in small clusters. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
