It bears small white, star flowers that are produced in Spring and Summer. These flowers bloom above attractive purple foliage which deepens in colour during Winter. Purpurea is a fast growing evergreen that likes a position of full sunlight to partial shade in well drained soil. It grows to a height of 10cm with a width of 1.5m.
