| Description | Lavandula angustifolia
Traditionally English Lavender was grown for its heavenly fragrance, used in oils and potpourri.
• Small, slender blue-ish purple flowers on tall stems above the foliage
• Grown in pots, as a hedge or in the cottage garden to attract bees and butterflies
• Tolerates drought and dry conditions, preferring well drained soils
6"/14cm pot | Acacia cognata 'Copper Tips'
Copper Tips is a tall growing form of the River Wattle that has beautiful coppery new foliage that contrasts nicely with the masses of yellow flowers in Spring. Use it as a very fast growing screen and feature plant. Generally no pruning is needed due to the gracious weeping habit developed by mature plants. Thrives in a position of full sunlight to partial shade.
13"/33cm pot size. | Quercus coccinea 'Scarlet Oak'
This lovely sturdy Oak is popular due to its spectacular Autumn display when the dark green foliage turns to shades of orange, bronze and brilliant red, displaying more intense colour in colder environments. It holds its foliage, sometimes into early Winter, and in Spring will produce acorns when the tree is mature. Similar to the Red Oak and Pin Oak, but generally preferred for its more brilliant Autumn display. Growing to around 12 metres, it would be best suited to a large garden and would look stunning as an avenue planting. It requires a position in full sun to part shade and is fairly adaptable to its surrounding environment.
16" pot size | Polygala myrtifolia x dalmaisiana
Polygala Dazzler is a shrub that originates from South Africa and has attractive, almost year round, purple pea-like flowers on light green foliage. It makes a great flowering hedge.
Polygala Dazzler prefers a well-drained position, but tolerates poor soils, frost and dry conditions. Pruning in early Spring will encourage bushiness and flowers. Best feed regularly with a slow release fertiliser.
