It produces dense spikes of aromatic beautiful tiny purple to violet flowers during summer. These are lighter in colour than Hidcote Lavender, and the plant grows slightly larger. 8" pot size | Berberis thunbergii atropurpurea 'Japanese Barberry' PurpleJapanese barberry, is a spiny, broad-rounded, deciduous shrub with green leaves. It typically matures to approximately 1m in height and wide. Its foliage typically turns attractive shades of orange, yellow and red in Autumn. Japanese Barberry is easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil in a full sun position. Tolerates part shade, but performs best with full sun. This is a very adaptable shrub that is tolerant of urban conditions. Plants also tolerates heat and drought, but are generally intolerant of poorly-drained, wet soils. | ||||||||||
