Description

Quercus robur

English Oaks are famous for being solid and strong. The trunk and secondary branches are very solid and are covered in thick blackish-grey bark which makes it quite a sight. The autumn foliage is a rich, dark brown. As the foliage is smaller than other deciduous trees, fallen leaves are not particularly difficult to eliminate and will not clog drains. 10"/25cm pot

Acacia acinacea

Gold Dust Wattle is a fast growing hardy small to medium shrub. Grows to approximately 2 to 3 metres high and 2metres wide. Naturally grows in dry or moist soils. Gold Dust likes full sun to dappled shade. It is frost tolerant and attracts seed feeding birds. Produces attractive red buds which open to bright golden flowers in Spring.

Brachychiton rupestris

Queensland Bottle is an unusual semi-deciduous tree that has a note-worthy bottle shaped trunk that becomes more pronounced with age. It produces small flowers in late spring that are followed by large seed pods. Queensland Bottle is a perfect specimen for large lawns or park like gardens. Thrives in well drained soils and open, sunny positions. Can tolerate dry conditions. 6"/14cm pot

Acer palmatum dissectum

Sunset Japanese Maple is a remarkable specimen tolerating full sun but preferably in part shade. It will grow to 3 to 4 feet tall and the branches will turn and cascade down to give it a lovely weeping effect. The leaves are a yellow green colour in the spring with a lighter lime green, and as the summer comes on the leaf will get a tinge of red around the edges. In the autumn the red tinge grows inwards to make a stunning fire ball of red and orange, giving it the name Sunset. 13''/33cm pot
