Description

Ficus carica

The Picone Black fig is a remarkable variety known for its dark purple–black skin and luscious deep red flesh with a rich, berry-sweet flavour. Originating from a cherished family heritage line, it delivers a jammy, full-bodied taste that stands out. Well suited to Australia’s climate, it thrives in backyard gardens and large pots alike, and is delicious enjoyed fresh or dried.

For best results, plant Picone Black in well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered spot. Water regularly, especially while establishing, and apply mulch to encourage strong early root growth. Prune after fruiting to maintain its shape and promote good airflow.

8"/20cm pot

Phoenix roebelenii 'Pygmy Date Palm'

Date Palms feature an interesting, classic palm trunk that forms and grows larger as it matures. They have a crown of elegant dark green lacy fronds cascading from the top of this. A mature Date Palm will reach 2-3 meters tall. Old, dead fronds are best pruned off to expose the trunk as the tree ages and to keep it neat. The Date Palm is another good plant for creating a tropical feel in the garden which does well down South.

Lavandula angustifolia "Munstead"

Munstead Lavender is a dwarf-rounded bush with aromatic grey-green foliage. It produces dense spikes of aromatic beautiful tiny purple to violet flowers during summer. These are lighter in colour than Hidcote Lavender, and the plant grows slightly larger. 3" pot size.
