Description

Banksia integrifolia

Banksia integrifolia or ‘Coastal Banksia’ is a hardy native found down the Eastern coastline of Australia. Often seen in windswept and sculptural shapes along beach fronts, when placed in a less hostile environment, they can become quite beautiful, bushy specimen plants. They grow anywhere between 4m - 10m and 1m - 5m wide, depending on their environment. During autumn and winter their yellow flowers form into large cones, rich with nectar. These stunning flowers attract lots of bird life, particularly cockatoos and honey-eaters. Coastal Banksia is a slow grower and can handle a wide range of soil types. 10" pot size.

Rosemary officinalis 'Blue Lagoon'

Rosemary Blue Lagoon is a low growing, spreading shrub that grows about 1m tall and 2m across. It is very impressive when flowering as it's just a mass of blue. Goes great on banks or in rockeries. Used for hedging as it loves a trim. With no maintenance necessary after roots are established its perfect for any garden!

Philotheca myoporoides (Eriostemon)

Producing masses of pink buds that open to stunning, white starry flowers. This is a hardy, compact shrub that has bright green aromatic foliage. It adapts well to a wide range of environments. It is a great feature shrub that can also be used for its cut flower. Likes both full and partial sunlight. Will tolerate moderate frost. 8"/20cm pot

Archontophoenix cunninghamiana

Bangalow Palms are native to Australia and are often used as indoor plants here down South. To grow into a very large tree they would probably require warmer climates than Melbourne, but as a small or medium size tree they look lovely anyway. Use Bangalow Palms as a clumped indoor plant or in a sheltered spot outdoors to add a tropical feel to the garden.
Heritage Rose Also known as Rosa Chinensis and the Butterfly Rose, Mutabilis is an open-flowered, twiggy bush showing multi-coloured blooms of coppery yellow that change to a pinky crimson colour as they age.

Numerous different cultivars have been produced over the last two centuries, although roses have been grown for millennia before their popularity bloomed. Renowned for their flowers and beauty, they are also loved for other reasons such as their fruit. The rose hip can be made into an old fashioned jam. Roses range in size and variety from your standard and bush roses to climbers and weeping varieties. Amongst all their beautiful colours, varieties and fragrances there is bound to be the perfect rose out there for your garden.
