It blooms in mid to late winter (late July/early August), with soft pink double blossoms massed over the entire tree. These blossoms are long lasting and Cherry Plum Blossom trees are showered in flowers by mid September. These flowering trees are fully in leaf with rich purple red foliage that changes to a bronzy red in mid Summer.
Prunus Blireana grows to approx. 4-5m in height and width but with a trim, can be kept much more compact if desired. This hardy and colourful feature tree can be planted singly, in clumps or as an avenue/row.
