Acer japonicum ‘Attaryi’ is similar to ‘Aconitifolium’, though it has slightly larger leaves with softer, less deeply cut lobes. This maple is a small to medium-sized tree with a slow growth habit. It benefits from some shelter against strong sun and drying winds, especially in warmer regions. Over time, it forms an attractive, rounded canopy, eventually becoming as wide as it is tall. In early spring, it produces delicate, small flowers, and in autumn it puts on a vivid display of bright red foliage accented with hints of yellow and orange.
