Plumbago does best in full sun unless you live in an area of extreme temperatures, in which case it would probably enjoy filtered sunlight.
Plumbago is an evergreen shrub, though in cold winter areas it loses some of its leaves. It has simple 5cm, light to mid-green oblong leaves which look attractive even without any flowers; but it is the mass of beautiful flowers that can completely cover the shrub in mid summer, which make it deserving of a place in any garden.

Polygala Dazzler is a shrub that originates from South Africa and has attractive, almost year round, purple pea-like flowers on light green foliage. It makes a great flowering hedge.
Polygala Dazzler prefers a well-drained position, but tolerates poor soils, frost and dry conditions. Pruning in early Spring will encourage bushiness and flowers. Best feed regularly with a slow release fertiliser.

Escallonia Iveyi is a quick growing, evergreen plant with fragrant white flowers in summer. Ideal for hedges, borders or screening.
It is particulary hardy and will cope with coastal conditions as well as a hot, dry location, but does not cope with humidity. Frost hardy and drought tolerant once established. Plant 70cm apart for hedges and borders.
