Description

Rosa banksiae

The Banksia Rose is a tough evergreen climbing rose with soft ruffled yellow flowers which appear in Spring. Like Iceberg Roses, it's prized as a disease resistant and hardy rose. It works well as a groundcover rose or a climber when given a support such as a trellis. The Banksia rose is an incredibly useful and versatile climber or groundcover as it is low maintenance, thornless and tolerates full sun and part shade. 6"/14cm pot size.

Aesculus hippocastanum

The Horse-Chestnut is a large domed, deciduous tree that is popular in the parklands of Europe and is also fairly common in the cooler areas of Australia. The leaves are large and palmately compound, while the creamy white flowers have a pink spot. They make excellent summer shade trees and are a handsome addition to larger spaces where you can appreciate their outline and attractive foliage which turns russet brown in early autumn, making a wonderful autumnal sight. These trees are best known for their spikey green fruit that contain shiny dark brown nuts or 'conkers'. Conkers particularly when fresh and young contains toxins and should not be eaten. 12'' pot size.

Camellia japonica

Japonica varieties of Camellia are better suited to shaded locations so that their foliage does not burn. They will be fine in morning sun, but not hot afternoon sun, and protect from high winds. Ecclesfield Camellia has dark green, glossy, evergreen leaves and from early winter to spring it will show large white anemone like flowers with yellow centres. Upright growth, perfect for screens and hedging, formal gardens, pot plants and more. Water and mulch well. It will reach 3-3m. 8"/20cm pot

Polyanthas Rose "The Fairy"

The Fairy is known for it's profuse clusters of small beautiful pink flowers. This rose is compact and disease-resistant, making it perfect for borders or hedges, and growing en masse as a groundcover. The Fairy grows in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in a position of full sun or partial shade. This rose attracts birds and butterflies and blooms between Autumn, late Spring and Summer. 13" pot size, approximately 6ft in height. Available online ONLY - Not in store.
ContentRoses are easily one of the most popular and widely cultivated groups of flowering plants. Numerous different cultivars have been produced over the last two centuries although roses have been grown for millennia before their popularity bloomed. Renown for their flowers and beauty they are also loved for other reasons such as their fruit, the rose hip which can be made into an old fashioned jam or for garden uses such as ground covers and hedging.
