In spring, it emerges with irregularly shaped, medium-green leaves accented by soft cream and rose tones. As the season progresses into summer, the rose hues gradually fade, while the cream brightens to a crisp white, creating a striking contrast that lasts throughout the season. Its red petioles further enhance its visual appeal. Despite its distinctive variegation, this is a very old cultivar, and its name—meaning “the pine branch”—remains somewhat puzzling.
