Perpetual Spinach, is neither a spinach nor is it perpetual. It is in fact a member of the Chard and Beet family. It is a hardy biennial, and will grow almost anywhere in the garden as long as it isn't in too much shade. It can grow up to 50cm tall and wide. And regular harvesting is good for the plant and will encourage new fresh growth. The leaves of this little beauty tastes a bit like asparagus, and need to be used fresh as soon as they're picked. Black Cherry Plum or Purple Leaf Plum is is a beautiful round ornamental, flowering plum with very dark purple summer foliage.
