Description

Ginkgo biloba

The Ginkgo or Maidenhair Tree is remarkably known as a 'living fossil', as it is the sole survivor of an ancient group of trees that date back to beyond the time of the dinosaurs. It is a perfect specimen or feature tree due to its long life and showy light green leaves which turn golden in Autumn. The leaves are an interesting ruffled shape. The Maidenhair Tree remains virtually unchanged today and represents the only living bridge between 'higher' and 'lower' plants (between ferns and conifers). Maidenhair trees can be extremely long-lived, the oldest recorded individual being 3,500 years old. 8"/20cm pot size

Thymus serpyllum

Pink Chintz thyme, is a low growing, ground covering perennial. It has all the same characteristics of Mother of Thyme, and is often called the same, only it has a paler pink flower. A hardy evergreen that once established, is quite drought resistant. It loves full sun in well drained soil. Water regularly until established. It's ground covering nature makes it a great ornamental plant, and people use it between paving and stepping stones, and in walkways. It's hardiness makes it great underfoot! It's also a great addition to any rock garden. This variety of thyme has a strong oregano type scent, and can be used in cooking in all the same ways as other thyme varieties. 4''/10cm pot
