Chishio Improved is a dense, bushy small tree, or medium to large rounded shrub. Small leaves, up to 5cm long, emerge a brilliant pinky-red in Spring, becoming green in Summer before turning orange-red in Autumn. Young stems have red bark and small, reddish flowers are borne in clusters during Spring.
Chichi Improved grows to approximately 2.5-4m in height and a similar width.Thrives in moist but well draining soil and a full sun to part shade position. This deciduous tree has a bushy habit.
