Description

Stevia rebaudiana

The Sugar herb is a herbaceous perennial shrub, native to South America. It is a sub-tropical plant and prefers a semi-humid environment. In the wild, it can grow up to 60cm tall. The leaves have a sweet taste to them and are sweetest when the plant begins to flower. For thousands of years, South Americans have used this herb to sweeten teas, beverages and food. The leaves can be used fresh or dried, and more potent when dried. 6"/14cm pot

Corylus avellana contorta 

Crazy Filbert (Contorted Filbert, Corkscrew Hazel) is an annual shrub/tree that reaches heights of 2-3m. Its branches are very twisted, making it a stunning feature when when its foliage is gone. Australian Indigo is a lovely ornamental shrub which is also a good plant for wildlife, being a good nectar and food source for butterflies. It will flower through Spring, with spires of pink to purple blooms. Growing to around 2 metres tall and wide, it can take neglect and some frost and drought. The foliage and stems can be used for natural dyes, and give a soft yellow colour. Great for low maintenance gardens. Drought tolerant.
