Description

Pyrus Calleryana "Everscreen Ornamental Pear"

Everscreen Ornamental Pears (also known as Winter Glow) are one of the only ornamental pear trees that retain their foliage during the winter months unless they are grown in very cold climates. These pears are excellent for use as hedges and screens. Clip them to create a dense leafy canopy and to maintain their height and width. If left unpruned they can grow up to 6m tall and 4m wide. 13" pot size.

Prunus yedoensis x subhirtella 'Snofozam'

Hands down the most popular feature tree, the Weeping Cherry tree! And it's no wonder why, with little maintenance and year round interest it's a definite crowd pleaser. • The most narrow of weeping cherries, Falling Snow's branches hang directly down • Covered in little white blossoms in the spring, green foliage in summer changing to an awesome display of autumn colour • Grows in most soils, disliking heavy clay and soggy soils See our Prunus - Ornamental Blossom Factsheet here for more about the different cherry and plum blossom varieties!

Grevillea robusta

The Grevillea Robusta (Southern Silky Oak) is a fast-growing large upright evergreen tree. It is the largest species of Grevillea, and resembles a grand pine tree when fully grown. Silky Oak produces long bottlebrush shaped golden-orange flowers in spring and summer. Silky Oak is suitable for most soil but prefers it to be well-drained and can grow in semi-shade or no shade. Drought tolerant.

This cultivar is tender, so usually grown as a houseplant, but can be put outside in the summer months, it doesn't like the cold and will often drop leaves as a result. Non-showy flowers lead onto red-orange fruits which become black upon ripening. This species is not typically grown for its fruits, rather it is a popular foliage houseplant due to its elegant growth habit attractive variegated foliage. 13"/33cm pot
ContentAt last an ornamental pear that has all the features such as hardiness, fast growth, compact size and lush glossy foliage that make the ornamental pear such a popular choice in Melbourne gardens. Numerous different cultivars have been produced over the last two centuries, although roses have been grown for millennia before their popularity bloomed. Renowned for their flowers and beauty, they are also loved for other reasons such as their fruit. The rose hip can be made into an old fashioned jam. Roses range in size and variety from your standard and bush roses to climbers and weeping varieties. Amongst all their beautiful colours, varieties and fragrances there is bound to be the perfect rose out there for your garden.
