Description

Pellaea rotundifolia

The Pellaea is native to NZ and commonly called the Button Fern. This hardy evergreen has delicate arching fronds which are densely covered with more than 30 pairs of small, round leaflets, it is a popular houseplant or addition to fern garden, because of its easy care requirements. It thrives in well-drained soil and requires minimal watering. Unlike most ferns, the Button Fern is a little more tolerant of a cooler climate but doesn't like the frost. Position your Button Fern in a lovely bright spot with indirect sunlight. It will look fantastic paired in a tropical garden or even just in a hanging basket where you can enjoy the fronds as they cascade over the side of the basket. If you notice the fronds starting to yellow and wilt, its a sign of overwatering. Cut back on the water, and trim the fronds.
