Catavkil is a lovely evergreen shrub that grows to around 2 metres tall and wide, with large single claret red flowers. The foliage is deep green, contrasting nicely with the flowers. It blooms continuously through the warm months, and the flowers can reach 20 cms in diameter.
Catavkil is ideal for use as a feature plant, mass plantings, and is great for container growing. Thrives in warm, frost free areas, from temperate to tropical climates. This variety likes a sunny position, and fertile, well drained soil. Fertilise in Spring and Autumn, and water regularly. Responds well to light pruning to keep the plant growth dense.
