| Description | Koelreuteria paniculata 'Golden Rain Tree'
This visually spectacular tree has been known to stop traffic when in bloom! In Summer it produces masses of bright yellow racaemes of flowers followed by clusters of magnicifent seed pods which resemble minature Chinese lanterns. A small tree, it will reach around 5m in height, making it suitable for virtually any sized garden. The foliage is medium green and deeply cerated and will evolve during Autumn to spectacular gold and bronze. Suited to small spaces, it is reasonably drought hardy and requires minimal care.
10"/25cm pot | Ulmus parvifolia
The bark of the Chinese Elm is a real stand out feature, as the tree sheds it in patches, creating the effect of a tapestry of varying browns and greys. Foliage is lush, shiny and green, and the tree is semi deciduous, turning golden in autumn, and keeping its leaves in warmer areas. It has also been noted by many Aussie gardeners in recent years that native birds enjoy the fruit of the Chinese Elm. | |
