Description

Banksia spinulosa

Honeyeater Delight Banksia is a great, low-growing, compact grower reaching a maximum of 50cm tall and wide. Perfect for smaller areas, native gardens, features, and low flowering borders and also suitable for coastal locations. It has narrow serrate leaves and produces large golden flowering cones in autumn and winter. 6"/14cm pot

Fagus sylvatica

Beeches are large, long-lived deciduous trees native to England and Europe. They are great, low-maintenance big, elegant trees. Beeches bear fresh green foliage that changes to rich golden color in Autumn, with smooth grey bark. The bark is a favorite for name carving and many of the Beech trees you’ve seen probably have young lovers’ names etched into them for eternity (or the life of the tree).

A Beech tree can grow to quite some size, reaching heights of up to 40 meters, and is a great lawn specimen and shade tree for this reason. Also popular for hedging, screening or pleaching – the tallest and longest hedge in the world is made of Beech. Also tolerates poor or sandy soils, but doesn’t like waterlogged areas.

Pyrus calleryana 'Winter Glow'

The only evergreen ornamental pear currently on the market, making it a highly sought after specimen tree. • Spring blossoms on semi bare branches • Ideal for screening or as a shade tree • Green glossy leaves with a silvered backing Everscreen Pears will only retain leaves in warmer climates. Cool climate areas such as rural Victoria are likely to see leaf drop in the winter but usually for only a period of up to 5 weeks. In cool climates it the Everscreen will get an autumnal colouring prior to leaf drop.   For more information on Ornamental Pears see our Pyrus - Ornamental Pear Factsheet
