The Fuyu Japanese persimmon is a non-astringent variety that lacks a core, seeds, and tannins. The flavour of the Vanilla Kaki persimmon is rich and sweet, with tasting notes of pear, apricot, and a hint of bourbon vanilla.
Self-fertile, it does not require cross-pollination with other species but can benefit when cross-pollination occurs.
