Description

Salvia longistyla x farinacea

One of the smallest of the Salvia family, 'Mystic Spires' produce broad, green leaves with blooms of dark blue atop long stems. Salvia's will bloom throughout the season if deadheaded regularly. Pruning after flowering is finished will ensure strong bushy regrowth for the next season. Salvia 'Mystic Spires' are suitable for pots, planters and full sun to part shade positions in the garden. Though thought of as a Cottage perennial, they suit a wide range of applications, including mass planting in Modern or Lush & Leafy gardens. See our Salvia Factsheet here for more about the different Salvia varieties!

Luma apiculata

Myrtus Luma is the medium to tall hedge with real traditional style. A lot of people believe the only fast growing larger hedge with fine foliage is the Pittosporum. It is an extraordinarily versatile plant suitable for hedging, screening, topiary, or as a specimen tree, but its small, aromatic leaves respond so well to pruning that it is commonly used as a hedge. Myrtus luma also makes a wonderful specimen tree if left unpruned. With age it forms an outstanding trunk with cinnamon brown branches. Its bark peels to reveal streaks of pink and beige. What a plant! It really should be seen more in Australian gardens.

Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei

Tuscarora is one of the best of the dark fuchsia-pink flowering Lagerstroemia's. The flowers and highly ornamental bark make this tough small tree a useful specimen or screening tree. Crepe Myrtles are adaptable to a range of conditions, heat and some dryness but requires adequate moisture during establishment. So can also be used well as a street tree. Mature growth: 6m x 4m wide. 8"/20cm pot
