Calathea ‘Flame Star’ is a striking tropical houseplant grown for its bold foliage. Its large leaves feature a bright lime to yellow-green centre with dark green edges and subtle flame-like markings. As a “prayer plant,” its leaves gently lift at night and reopen in the morning.

Native to South American rainforests, it thrives indoors in Melbourne with warm temperatures, high humidity, and bright, indirect light. Keep the soil evenly moist and well-drained, and mist regularly in dry conditions. While it rarely flowers indoors, its vibrant, dynamic foliage is its main attraction.
